History Of Our Museum

The African Museum was established by a group of Africans in the United Kingdom (UK) who recognised the contributions made by Black people to British society over thousands of years. Despite these significant contributions, their achievements remain largely unrecognised and uncelebrated. For example, Mary Seacole, who made substantial contributions to modern nursing, has been overlooked for centuries.
